The Barn at Wombat Flat is our region's newest and best sounding 'listening' performance and art space at Neales Flat near Eudunda in SA’s Mid North. It’s about an hour and a half drive from Adelaide and about 45 minutes from the Clare Valley. The venue is a beautiful 150-year-old stone Clydesdale barn that owners Mike and Di have converted specifically for this purpose.
The Maes are award-winning Australian sisters Maggie (banjo, guitar, and vocals) and Elsie Rigby (violin, and vocals).
Over the last three years the pair have toured extensively, bringing their unique contemporary twist on folk music to audiences in Australia, North America, the UK, and Ireland; most recently performing at the legendary Telluride Festival in Colorado.
Other stand-out shows include performances at the Hydro Stadium at Celtic Connection, Glasgow; Americana Folk Festival, Nashville; Cambridge Folk Festival, UK; Edmonton Folk Festival, Vancouver Folk Music Festival, Canada; Woodford, Port Fairy and National Folk Festivals, Australia.
Their sophomore album, Take Care Take Cover was awarded Best Folk Roots Album 2017 by The Age Music Victoria Award and has received rave reviews at home and abroad with The Australian calling it a “simply superb sophomore album”.
Alana Jagt’s dynamic, warmly-weathered voice has captivated audiences throughout her career. Her work blends indie pop and rock with moody alt-country and Motown groove. Backed by a cohort of South Australia’s finest musicians, she performs powerful, vocal-led solo affairs; playful trio shows; and with six-piece, twin-guitar rock band, The Monotremes.
Since releasing her debut EP Wilderness (2017), Alana has played acclaimed festivals such as Handpicked Festival (featuring San Cisco, Dean Lewis, Matt Corby, and JET), Adelaide Guitar Festival, and has showcased at Scouted. She’s also supported the likes of Didirri, Mick Thomas, Abbe May and Kasey Chambers.
