Watervale General Store and Providore
The Watervale General Store is open for gourmet breakfast with eat-in and take-away lunches also available.
Breakfast include egg and bacon classics, as well as gourmet dishes.
Much of the food is prepared by the Chefs at the Watervale Hotel, one of whom cooks at the General Store kitchen each day.
This includes cakes and pastries made by the restaurant Pastry Chef; and items baked in the wood-fired oven.
The coffee is a Mexican fair trade blend, whilst tea options include Warndu indigenous teas.
Fresh squeezed juices and smoothies are offered.
The Providore store acts as the farm-gate for the organic and bio-dynamic Penobscot Farm selling preserved, and when in surplus - fresh produce. Other gourmet produce is available including the full cheese menu from the Watervale Hotel.
There is an eclectic range of goods available in the store reflecting the ethics of the operators, as well as the needs of travelers.
Watervale is an ancient food bowl of the Ngadjuri people, and displays Ngadjuri art for sale.
The Watervale Post Office also operates from the General Store.
Guests at the Watervale Hotel Guesthouse or Penobscot Farm Cottage will breakfast at the General Store, as can others stating at other venues in the Clare Valley.
